Look in the online Help 'index' under Formulas. There is an entire section on multiple years complete with examples.

For example, if the .ColSpec data token is Y, entering {1} immediately before the Y, will return the amount one year ago. You can go back 9 years and forward one year (eg. {-1}. It's important you use the squiggle brackets.

They're called brace brackets. The others are square brackets [] and parentheses ().

When you're in the Financial Reporter, from the menu select Help | Contents. Click on the 'Show' button in the upper left of the toolbar and select the Index tab. Scroll or search to 'Formulas'.

I can't find on line help index?

What version of Ledger and Financial Reporter? It may be that the path to locate the Financial Report help file in your Windows Registry is incorrect, or perhaps you don't have a copy of the financial reporter help saved to your local workstation.

Look for the file LedgerFinRep.chm in Windows Explorer on your local workstation if you want to load it 'manually'.

Multiple Years

Adagio's Financial Reporter enables you to report on up to 10 years of stored ledger data using both .ColSpec reports and Adagio Database functions.

To do so using ColSpec reports, simply edit the appropriate .ColSpec cell and prefix the code with {n}. {n} can be an integer from -9 to 9.

For example, if the .ColSpec account data token is Y:

editing the cell to read {1}Y will return the information for one year before the year displayed in the Year dropdown on the toolbar,

editing the cell to read {2}Y will return the information for two years before the year displayed in the Year dropdown on the toolbar,

editing the cell to read {-1}Y will return the information for one year in the future, after the year displayed in the Year dropdown on the toolbar.

To do so using Adagio Database formulas (eg. ADGET), again assume the account data token is Y, simply edit the formula as follows:

to read {1}Y (eg. =ADGET("gldata.{1}Y","$B11") will return the information for one year before the year displayed in the Year dropdown on the toolbar,

to read {2}Y (eg. =ADGET("gldata.{2}Y","$B11") will return the information for two years before the year displayed in the Year dropdown on the toolbar,

to read {-1}Y (eg. =ADGET("gldata.{-1}Y","$B11") will return the information for one year in the future, after the year displayed in the Year dropdown on the toolbar.

Again, {n} can be an integer from -9 to 9.

I am working through my first reports with Adagio FX and QuickBooks. No problem in getting the current year's numbers to agree with QB, but prior year numbers do not add up. Suggestions on what to check on in prior year numbers?

You could do a trial balance type statement for current and prior year to match numbers in FX to those in QB. You could also use the Edit | Account History window in the Main FX menu to look through net changes for those accounts that aren't reporting the same amounts as QB.

Can you be more specific about what accounts are reporting the same values as QB? One account, a few accounts, all accounts? Retained Earnings account?

Are you using Classes in QB? Exactly what version of QB are you using?
