I think I'm on to something..!!!

Tonight.. paranoid.. I copied the data to a back up folder before the integrity check ran. Then DC Integrity Check ran successfully (no errors).

So, then I opened Toolkit, as I do at least once a week, and ran an Item Change.

Then I ran the integrity check again and BINGO... OE Sales Order Detail File Error. So I suspect that when Item Changes are posted with Toolkit, it is creating errors in Sales Orders where those items exist. I know forsure that Toolkit used to change the Item code in the Sales Order successfully so perhaps since the OE upgrade, it's no longer working??

Bob will want to know about this. BTW are you using OE 8.1C? This has an additional index that an older version of the toolkit won't be updating. You won't be losing any data. Rest easy.

I just studied the Toolkit Audit List. Since installing OE 8.1C (090902) on Aug 14, I posted Item Changes in Toolkit 4 times. Each immediately preceded a OE "Sales Order Detail" File Error in DC's Data Integrity Check.

I'll post to the Toolkit forum to let Bob know.

I know he's just put a new release to bed. I'm sure it'll fix your problem.

Wondering why I'm still using Toolkit 8.1B (SP1 090407) and why no one ever makes me aware that have been 2 upgrades since then? The first providing compatibility with OE 8.1C!! The last email I received regarding Toolkit was a June 24, 2009 Invoice for the Upgrade Plan that takes me into 2010.

Softrak always sends an email letting us know when there are upgrades and/or service packs. I guess I'm complaining in the wrong forum... sorry. *frustrating*

Susan --

This is not the entire solution to your problem, but we've asked all of our Adagio Developer Partners to give us a link to their Adagio compatibility page. Dakota has been very good about keeping their compatibility page updated. You can find the links on Softrak by going to Support | Compatibility Info.

I guess I should have read this thread, 4 days ago. If you were using an old Toolkit, that new index into the Sales Order Detail would be left unchanged. DC or OE should rebuild the index and I don't believe there would be any data loss.

I've been emailing the dealers about service packs, because they would know about which products/versions are installed. I also add an annoucement to the Dakota Software Forum (http://www.dakotasoftware.com/forum) where registered users can receive automatic email notifications. That said, I'd be happy to send anyone an extra email.

Sorry about the headaches.
