Hi Debbie,

Is this Quik Reports for DOS or for Windows?

The usual culprit for a Quik Report (DOS) 'freezing' in the middle of printing is that the amount of free conventional memory is too low for the report being printed. If you open a DOS prompt and type 'mem', you will see a list of Conventional Memory statistics for your machine. If the amount of available free conventional memory is below 530Kb, you won't be able to run many reports. You may need as much as 580Kb to run the largest and most complicated reports.

There should be some tips in the back of the Quik Reports manual for freeing up some more memory.

For Quik Reports for Windows, the culprit could be either not enough extended memory, too many other programs being run simultaneously, too much data on the report, or DOS windows not configured to 'Always Suspend in Background'. If this continues to happen, could you give some more details as to what type of report you are wanting to print and other relevant information?

Both types of Quik Reports are 'read-only' programs, so I would be very surprised to learn that this was the cause of any data corruption. Quik Reports will not write to or change any data. Perhaps the data was already corrupted, and when Quik Reports was running it came across the bad data and froze. If the report does hang up during printing, there is not much you can do other than re-booting, but that should not affect your data. Only freezing during functions such as posting batches or saving changes to customers or vendors could cause data corruption.
