We're a small non-profit using a very, very old version of the Adagio Ledger and Payables. Are there any other nonprofits out there who can speak to the user friendliness, efficacy and overall performance of version 9? Any feedback would be greatly appreciated.

Hello Hannah,

Since you are already using Adagio Ledger and Payables, you're already familiar with how transacions are entered and posted. None of this has changed in the new version. However, I hope that some of the following changes will make some processes easier.

In Adagio Ledger
  • A soft year end allow you to create the next fiscal year and process transactions in it without having to close the current year.
  • Performing year end does not purge the general ledger detail transactions or budget information.
  • Two budget "buckets" are available for budgetting and forecasting purposes.
  • Entering and maintaining budgets (or forecasts) has been significantly improved.
  • You can highlight a single transaction and immediately see all the offsetting entries that make up the entire journal entry for the transaction.
  • You can instantly send the trial balance or general ledger detail transactions for an account directly to Excel.
  • In the financial reporter, new formulas make financial statement creation easier, and user security is available at the department level.
  • and there's more...

In Adagio Payables
  • Compliance with the CPA cheque standard.
  • Full electronic payments integration with TelPay to pay any vendor or individual in Canada electronically.
  • Optional fields for your vendor file.
  • ...and more...

Hopefully you'd be happy with what the upgrade offers. Is there something that you were looking for specifically?

Our board just wants to get some feedback from other nonprofits using the newer AP and GL modules. And then we'll make the purchase, so if you can refer me to any charities using these so I can get "references" that would be great. Thanks.

Hi Hannah

Since it has been a few days and nobody has replied to your request, other than the software developer, I suggest you contact your dealer or a dealer in your area and ask him/her for referrals. Usually Softrak doesn't give out referrals directly, but rather channels these requests through their dealer channel.

The way it works is that your dealer, if unable to come up with referrals, should then ask other dealers in the dealer forum to provide some names. The dealer network in Adagio is very close and helps each other out in that way, but it's best for you to have a relationship with one dealer.

Steve
