Retrieving Data from AP to TB

Recently I have been having difficulty retrieving my A/P data in to TB. I get the message that the file has been locked by another program. No other program is open.
I am using Adagio on a server.
Any ideas?

AP and TB are updated to the most current versions.
No one else is using Adagio at the same time. Someone else enters the payables data. I post the payables data, then retrieve into TB.
No 3rd party access to Adagio data.

I think this may have started after the latest AP update but I am not sure.

The 2nd line from the Help | About screen shows the Version # and Date. This information is always useful.
When everyone is out of Adagio go into your data folder and detete the EZSEMTAB.xxx where xxx is your data selector.
Then, making sure you are the only one working, start up Time Billing and try the retrieve.
If you still get the message let us know the exact wording...hopefully the message say's what file the system thinks is locked.

It says the the aptbtch file is locked.
I was finally able to retrieve it but this is not very convenient. (I had already tried shutting down and rebooting. That did nothing.)
I ran a data integrity check on A/P. It returned no errors. I ran a data integrity check on TB. It returned no errors. I opened A/P. I opened TB. I retrieved data successfully.
Version: AP 8.1A (080821) TB 8.1A (080516)

May I suggest that your computer technician run \softrak\system\SetServerForAdagio.exe on the server. The server will have to be re-started if any settings are changed.
Failure to properly set the options here can result in locks not being released.

I was getting the error message again so I ran \softrak\system\SetServerForAdagio.exe on the server, disabled the opprtunistic locking and this did not solve the problem.
Any other ideas?
This just started happening and at first it was only occasionally.
Thanks a lot!

Make sure that everyone, including yourself, has exited AP before you try the Retrieve in TB

Hi bal,
Could you indicate the exact wording of the error message? That might help in determining where the error exists, and help to determine a cause. In a previous post, you indicated that the APTBBTCH file was locked - is that the wording of the message?
For example, if you get an error that a specific user is doing a process that prevents you from retrieving, then the likely cause is that one of the EZSEMTAB.dat or EZTASKS.LD4 files were not cleared correctly when a user finished doing a task or shut down. The issue may also be that the server is holding onto the file, outside what Adagio is able to deal with. Perhaps the problem started when a Windows Security Update was installed.
You also mentioned that you are the person who posts the AP batches. Prior to starting Time&Billing and attempting to retrieve the batch, what do you do with AP? Are there any functions still open like Edit Invoice Batches or posting journals or so on? The error message is "data/APTBBTCH file is locked. Another program may be using the file" Usually I close A/P before opening TB when I want to retrieve data. I have no problem retrieving into the Ledger. I have no problem retrieving Billings into Receivables. It is ONLY payblaes into TB that is the problem.
