Because of the way the data is maintained in AR for the current and historical transactions, this is not an easy report to configure. With Quik Reports for DOS, the only possible way to attempt this is to create 2 Readback files to export the information to a common data file, and make a 3rd report that will be the report you need.

The first report would be a Readback report on the current transactions, and the second on the historical transactions. Note that these 2 reports would have to be identical in every way, with the same fields in the same positions and the same lengths for this to work. Both of these report would append the same Readback data file.

Even in setting this up, it may still not be possible to get the report you require. For further information on how to create Readback reports, see Chapter 12 of the Quik Reports manual. You require at least version 6.2A to use this feature, and we recommend having 6.5A for this type of report.

No, QRW will not be able to do this report more easily than QR DOS.

The problem is that the source information is in 2 files. Unless you use QR DOS Readback to store the information in a single file, QR DOS and QRW both try to report the information so that current information is beside historical information instead of beneath it.

QR DOS and Readback is the best method of reporting on this information.
