Dear Cypher

I have not heard of this happening before your post... The Adagio Backup function requires exclusive access to the data, otherwise all data files will not be backed up.

1. Have you done a DIC prior to doing the backup?

2. If you are using APWIN on a network, could there be anybody else in APWIN, or ACCPAC Plus AP at the time you are trying to do the b/up? You may want to simply click Open and reload the data to make sure your station has closed all the data file it should.

3. Again, if this is a network, and the data is on a Server, you could try making a copy of the data and putting it on your local drive in a new directory, then do the backup. This would determine if it is a network related issue or not. If the backup goes through with no problems locally, then there is something 'holding' this file on the Server that is causing this message to occur during the backup procedure.

4. If you are using any integrated products (Cashbook for e.g.), is anybody in there? Cashbook uses the bank information from AP.

These are the types of things to look for - hope these suggestions help a bit!

Regards,
Softrak Support

Hello again Cypher

Thank you for looking into this enough to give us more details. I tried this here with the sample data that ships with Adagio Payables, and sure enough - can duplicate this without a problem!

I have made R&D aware of this. Thank you for finding it! I suppose most people must NOT do a DIC prior to the backup in this release (or, they just don't backup their data!) otherwise, I am sure that we would have been aware of this by now.

When a fix is available, it will get put on our website in the End User PTF download area.

We could let you know when it is available, if you would let us know how to contact you. If you are a registered User of APWIN V6.8A, you will be able to obtain this n/c.

Regards,
