File Integrity Errors - Sales Analysis

We have been file error free since July of 2008. In mid April, I installed the new Sales Analysis 8.1B (2009.02.24).
April 27 Integrity check reported: Adagio SalesAnalysis: File Integrity Transactions ... 4 error(s)found ....... FAILED These errors were repaired.
Today Integrity Check reported: Adagio SalesAnalysis: File Integrity Transactions ... 350 error(s)found ....... FAILED Again the errors were repaired.
We hardly ever use Sales Analysis. We occasionally use it for inquiring all items that a customer has every purchased from us.
Why are we getting these errors? Is there any possibility of our other data becoming damaged as a result of these errors? How can I get rid of this problem? Can I delete all the Sales Analysis data and then "Retrieve Sales Data from Order Entry"?

Hi Susan,
SalesAnalysis is an end point for data flow, so if any errors were found here, it would not cause errors anywhere else.
What changed on April 26th/27th? Adagio upgrades installed? Windows updates installed? Anything else?
What other recent Adagio upgrades have you installed recently? If you are using OrderEntry, I presume you have not installed the Receivables 90A upgrade, because it is not compatible with OrderEntry yet.
If you look in your \softrak\system directory where your Adagio programs are installed, what is the file date (and version) of your ADS32.DLL file? This is the database interface file and it often is useful to know what version is in use.
We are not aware of any problems with the SalesAnalysis 81B upgrade in regards to integrity errors.
If you deleted and re-Scanned the data from Order Entry, that likely would not solve anything for the future, as the current integrity check is fixing whatever errors it is finding. The issue probably has to do with new transactions coming in.

What changed is that I installed Sales Analysis Upgrade and ToolKit Upgrade. We do use OE and I have not installed the new AR yet. I\softrak\system\ADS32.DLL is dated October 3, 2008. The only other thing I can think of that has changed recently is we changed a username on our server and added a new workstation. Nothing else new. We never scan Order Entry. Only Retrieve Sales Data from Order Entry as part of our Day End procedure.

Hello Susan:
Is the Integrity Check giving you an explanation of the error? Invalid item code? Invalid unit of measure?
Were you been using the Dakota Toolkit just prior to the problems? Have you got the latest version of the Toolkit (released early in April)?

Hi Bruce,
Integrity check doesn't give me any further explanation of the error than what I mentioned above. Yes, I used the Toolkit prior to the problems. I use the Toolkit regularly (every few days) for customer and item changes. I am using the latest version of Toolkit 8.1B SP1 (090407).

Hi Susan:
Can you remember whether the Integrity errors occurred immediately after using the Toolkit? But don't occur if you don't use the Toolkit?
Dakota has an extremely good reputation for quality but I'm wondering if something is working a little differently?

Hi Susan,
You have my attention because you're working with the Toolkit. It may or may not be related. I haven't heard of any integrity errors from it's use. From your post above, they are 'File' errors which implies a file structural problem, not an invalid customer or item. The next time you run the Toolkit, I'd recommend that you check your SA Data Integrity, before and after the Toolkit run. The Toolkit also generates a backup, so the 'Before' data is worth reviewing. The alternative is to stop using the Toolkit for awhile and see if the problem goes away.
Let me know how it goes, Bob.

Tonight I ran DataCare Integrity Check and it was all good. Then I ran Toolkit for 1 item change. Then I ran DataCare Integrity Check again. It was still good (no errors). I will test it again with a customer change and will report back the results.

I made a customer change with Toolkit then ran DataCare Integrity Check and everything is still good (no errors). Then I went into Sales Analysis and ran an Inquiry which seems to be working fine. Then ran DataCare Integrity Check again and it's still good (no errors). I'm still not sure what is causing the problem. I guess I'll wait and see if it the errors return.

Tonight we ran DataCare Integrity Check as usual after our Day End and there were no errors. Then I posted one Customer change with Toolkit. Then I ran DataCare Integrity Check again and 57 errors were found.
Adagio SalesAnalysis: File Integrity Transactions ... 57 error(s)found ....... FAILED
I will rebuild the errors again.
Between the time I ran the first DataCare Integrity Check and the second, Adagio was not in use except for the one Customer Change using Toolkit.
Any ideas?
