Hi,
I installed the upgrade and all invoices in an existing batch no longer have job numbers in the total field. When attempting to re-enter them, the error message comes up stating that the job is "invalid" when in fact it is not. After clicking several times, it will take the job number; however when escaping from the invoice and then trying to reopen, the error message "error internal error: field (71) or (@J1AJob) is not a boolean field. attempted when trying to read record from jobs."
Thanks for any help in advance,
Karen

Okay, I now see that the Invoice version I upgraded to is not compatible with the latest version of JC. What's with that?????

Hello Karen:

You will have to roll back to Receivables 8.1. That means 2 things:
-Data: Restore your most recent backup from before conversion
-AR 8.1: During the installation process you are given an option to keep Receivables 8.1 on your computer. If you chose to keep it, you are OK. If you chose to delete it, you will have to re-install it. Remember to install any Service Packs.

For anyone considering installing Receivables 9, it is CRITICAL that you read the notes in the email. You will also see a detailed listing of incompatible modules during the installation process itself.

Be aware that:
1) If you are using a LanPak, Sales Analysis or Adagio Invoices, you must download and install the latest versions. They are compatible with AR 9 (they are also compatible with AR 8.1). GL 9.0 and AP 8.1 are already compatible.

2) But, if you use OE, IC, Job Cost, Bank Rec, SalesCQ or Time & Billing, you CANNOT convert your AR data until compatible versions of those modules are available.

3) If you have staff who use ACCPAC Plus, please note that they will no longer be able to use those modules. AP is an exception.

4) If you use 3rd party applications that integrate with OE or AR, you must check with the developer before upgrading to AR 9.

5) If you have custom Crystal Reports or GV Views that refer to the AR data, you will likely have to revise them after conversion.

NOTE: If you have ANY doubts, ask your Adagio reseller or post in this Forum before converting your data. If posting here, list all modules and 3rd party applications.

Hi Bruce

The issue is not about an AR 9.0A upgrade, it is about an IN 8.1B upgrade. I think you might have misread the thread.

I am not sure whether IN 8.1B performs a data conversion, if it does then you will have to restore from a backup. If it doesn't, then simply re-installing 8.1A should work.

But what does tech support have to say?

Steve

It's possible that IN 8.1B expects the upcoming release of JobCost, since the interface has been significantly improved.

Sorry for the inconvenience.

Hello Steve:

You're right - I rushed to the wrong conclusion. Thanks for the correction.

Have we heard from tech support? I'm not sure what I need to do to get the system where it needs to be. I have to go in today to finish what I couldn't yesterday.

Hi Karen,

Tech Support won't be available until Tuesday. We close Softrak for Easter Friday and Monday because there is such a long stretch from New Year's to Easter.

Although the compatibility chart says that this compbination should work, I am able to recreate the problem you are seeing.

I'd restore the data from before the installation of Adagio Invoies V8.1B and re-install V8.1A of Adagio Invoices. Hopefulle we'll have an explanation of hat needs fixing by Tuesday afternoon.

Sorry for the inconvenience.

Thanks for the response Andrew. I will contact Steve Schwartz and have him restore the data for me and then do the re-install. I'm not comfortable doing that myself. I look forward to hearing the explanation.....the upgrade looks great and I'd like to be able to utilize its features.

Have a wonderful holiday.
