Dear Quickcheck

This is just the way it works. The file size itself will not reduce, there will just be 'empty space' where the deleted transactions used to be, which will later get filled with newer transactions. The file will finally get larger only when that space has been filled.
Other ACCPAC Plus apps work this way as well - for example OE History. The only way to actually reduce the physical size of the file is to use a special compression technique that will allow more current history to be written to the file while still retaining a processing speed that is useable.
If you are experiencing a real slow down because the history file is getting so large, or if it is so large that you really need the available disk space, our Database Repair department can do this for you, however, you would have to contact them for additional information on what it would cost. datarepair@softrak.com or you can call direct (604) 736-3741 and ask for that department.

You could try renaming the SSIDBI.dll file, then re-installing QCWIN to see if it is this file that has become damaged in some way. This is an old DBI file. The one used in more current (but still out of date) QCWIN versions is the "SSDBI.DLL". This file can be found in the 3RDPARTY\Working directory where you installed QCWIN. Rename it to have a different extension, then rename your existing QCWIN program directory (it's under the Softrak directory on the same drive that you installed QCWIN to) then re-install QCWIN.
If this does not help, please post the answers to these questions:
At what exact point do you receive this message?
Are you printing checks, printing a report from the Reports menu or entering transactions?
Please be specific.
Also please let us know what version of Quik Check Plus (for Windows?) you are using, as this is an outdated product and we do not ship it any longer. The replacement is Adagio Checks.
Adagio Checks is the same program as you are used to using, however - it has many enhanced options and functionality than what you are now using.
More information on Adagio Checks can be found on our website in the 'Products' area. Here is the link: http://www.softrak.com/products/adagio/checks.html
