Hi All,

I noticed in the company profile in IC that there are options on how to set up part numbers. We currently have it set up with 3 segments with a dash in between each segment. The first and second segment are 2 digits each, and the last is 12.

I notice that even though I logged in as the admin (sys) I couldn't change these options.

We are thinking about increasing the max length of the third segment. What will the effects of this be, and why is it greyed out?

Hi Acrylon,

Once an item format is set (when the data is first created), you may not edit the format because that would cause integrity errors in the data. You would require a utility such as the Toolkit for Adagio to change the Item Format to something else - so that all historical transactions are also changed.

Adagio Inventory only allows a maximum of 16 characters in an item code (not counting the segment separators). If your items are 3 segments of 2-2-12, then you are already at the maximum and cannot increase the length of the last segment anyway.
