I have AccPac Inventory 6.1B. I took a quick look and yes, you can change the costing method in the control account there!! I knew that Accpac was still good for something!!!! Thank-you I will try this now and let you know how I make out. I hope the inventory won't be changed (reformatted) in any way when I bring it back into Adagio. Yes - I will back up first.

I tried it but no dice. First it was missing a couple of files, so I copied them over from my old AccPac data and then I could open the data. Then it told me I couldn't change the costing method unless I did a Day End in OE first. I've already done the day end so I tried doing a Day End in AccPac OE.. not knowing of course what I might be doing to our data at the point. Anyway, it let me change the costing method in the account set after that but when I opened the data in Adagio Inventory, the account set was still on FIFO. I restored from teh back up and I guess I have to give up. Disappointing!

You need ACCPAC Plus Inventory 6.5A. Version 6.1B is not compatible with Adagio.

And since this feature was available with AccPac, why was removed from Adagio? Adagio should be better than AccPac.

I'm at 432 items changed.. 4568 to go...

Softrak.. PLEASE put this feature back in. It's too late for us but it will help the next person who wants to change their costing method.

Any consultant with a copy of Accpac Plus Inventory Control could make this change for you with your data in a short period of time. Why not make arrangements - it'd be worth the cost.

We specifically blocked this change in Adagio because of the accounting issue, and the fact that we did not believe that Accpac Plus could possible be making the change correctly. It turns out it does.

It is on our list of things to change, but I agree that we won't get there in time for you.
