We are getting an "Error 4108 while attemping to open ICTempAdjust file". This error occurs when attempting to put in an adjustment in Inventory 8.1a.

Ideas appreciated.

Thanks, David

Hi, David,

Error 4100's can point to some kind of data corruption, perhaps because Opportunistic Locking has been turned on.

First, do a backup and check the data integrity. If the Rebuild button presents itself, use it and run DIC again.

Data passed DIC with no errors. We copied the data to a local drive and receive the same error. This was done in attempt to avoid any rights issue on the network.

At this time we are reinstalling the application.

Thanks,

Hi, David,

Do you receive the same error using sample data?

If not, then it is more likely pointing to something in their data and not the install.

If so, then the module should be reinstalled and you'll want to make sure you uninstall, rename residual folders/files and then reinstall.

Sample does not have the error. Live data has the error went run on both the network and the local workstation.

With the data passing the DIC is there any other way to check or correct the data without restoring from backup?

Thanks, David

David,

I need to have more detailed information to be able to track this down or see the data myself.

Can you tell me exactly what they are doing when they receive the error? Does it occur immediately after they click on the Adjustments button in the toolbar and the grid displays? Or, after they do the same from the Transactions menu? Or, is it right after they click New or or enter information into a field on the Adjustment window?

Let me know.

Error occurs as soon as the Adjustments selection is made. I am going to make arrangements to upload you a copy of the data.

Thanks, David

Okay, so it occurs as soon as they click the Adjustments button then.

Will keep an eye open for the data.

OK. Also try pointing GridView at the Adjustments file - if indeed the pre-posted Adjustments file is corrupted, the display of the information in GridView will be bad.

Gridview reports "Unable to create a connection to the database". Other IC gridviews work.

Thanks, David

We renamed ICADJTX.xxx and ICADFT'D.xxx and copied the same files from the sample data. After doing this the Adjustments will work.

Data has just been uploaded.

Thanks, David

Hi, David,

I'm not sure what all the sequence of events was there but, when I went to open the data in IC8.1A, I received a message that the data needed converting. So I tried earlier versions and found that the data was 8.0B.

In any event, I converted the data to full 8.1A and received a prompt at logon about the Adjustment Audit List having transactions. I printed and cleared the adjustments audit list which cleared the ICADJTX.xxx file and the problem resolved itself.

Again, I don't know what all the sequence of events was there but perhaps someone had restored from a prior backup and that created some conflict in the files being used.

Glad it's resolved.

I just unzipped the file I sent to you onto my test laptop and did not receive the convert message. I got the same error reported at the client's office entering Adjustments.

Thanks for all your help.

David
