In the days of ACCPAC Plus, I could copy archived batch files from one set of data to another to transfer useful batches. I'm looking at the Adagio GL version 9 data and I'm not seeing the same type of files for these batches. Has this changed so much I can't do this anymore?

I'll explain why I want this - I've lost most of a large unposted batch in the gl, but I have a backup from the night before when the batch was good. There have been postings done during the day and I thought if I could access the batch in the backed up data I could archive the batch and bring it in to the current data where this batch is lost. Do you have any similar trick that would work?

Hello bd,

What is the release date of the Ledger 90A you have installed?

Archive batches in Ledger 90A are very different from Plus.

If you have GridView, you could use it to create an import file. An alternative is to contact your Adagio Consultant. They will be able to help you to create the import file.

Steve - Can you please check that link, as I get a "page not found" error.

Thanks,

Thanks all

Release date is 080704 and I don't have Gridview unfortunately.

Steve's link worked for me, but since I don't have Gridview, oh well. It gave me an idea about exporting and importing though. However when I checked the export choices in Adagio GL, batches was greyed out. Should it be, would this be a future possibility?

For now I've fixed my current problem with a restore from my backup. It will be easier to duplicate what I did yesterday than all the lines I lost in that one batch. I'm archiving my current batches in case this happens again.

Hi, Barb,

The release of GL9 you are using has a new File | Export | Batch function.

What you could do is open the copy of the data from your backup (before the problem occurred) and export that batch. The function will prompt you to select where in GL9 the batch is located - Archived, Current year or Next year batches -- and to select the appropriate batch number to be exported.

Export the batch to file you can later access in your 'live' GL9 data.

Next, open your 'live' GL9 data and do a backup. Then you can use the File | Import | Batches function to import the batch file into your 'live' dataset.

I looked at that but under Export - Batches was greyed out (unselectable). I just tried again with the SYS user and it wasn't greyed out. I am set up for full access, is this another feature only the SYS user can use, or is there something else not set right that I couldn't do it under my usual username.

Hi, Barb,

You'll need to talk with your Adagio system administrator about this.

Any User belonging to a Group that has been granted access to the function, will see it activated on the menu. If the function is greyed out, it means that currently you do not have access to it.

Okay, thanks I double-checked the Security Group Setup and made the necessary changes. It looks like I should have done that after upgrading to version 9 - a lot of different choices in there now.
