Hi All,

Two quick questions:

1)We are switching to a new server, and I was wondering if there is anything I should know. ie, can I just transfer all of the Adagio data from one server to the other, and everything will still work?

2) What causes OE to repsond with 'Nothing in range to print'? Someone is trying to print a picking slip (there is 0 qty shipped on the order), and that message comes up. I do have the 'suppres zero qtys on invoice' box checked off in the company profile, but I can still print picking slips for other invoices with 0 qty shipped. Any ideas?

Thanks!

Hi Acrylon,

1) Does your new server have a different drive letter mapping than the old server? If so, then one particular 'pointer' data file will need to be updated. The ADSPROF data file looks for other system files and if your Adagio programs now reside on a new server with a different mapping, the correct file may be missed. Simply don't copy this one file and it will be recreated the next time you use Adagio with the data. You will be prompted for the new path - it will be the \softrak\system directory on your new server, unless you still use Accpac Plus in which case it will be \asp.

2) If there are no OE documents selected to print, based on ranges and options, this will give the message you indicated. In the case of Picking Slips, the order must not yet be Complete, fall within the document number and location ranges, and adhere to the 'Confirmed orders' option if selected. Ensure the order isn't marked Completed and determine if it has been confirmed. Also make sure that a range isn't from 'blank to blank' but is a valid range.

If you still can't print the document, please indicate all of the ranges and options you have selected. Also indicate if the order is completed and/or confirmed.

Hi Softrak,

1)We are making the mapping the same from old to new - it will be seamless for all end users. My boss mentioned that there might be issues moving the files, so I figured I'd ask the experts ;).

2) I just re-entered the order and got rid of the old one, our shipper needed a packing slip (maybe not a very technically sound solution, but I got what I needed!).

Thanks,

Cam

Hi Cam,

Hopefully you copied the order rather than re-keying it!

That's why you're the president and I post questions!

Now I know.

Thanks!

Cam,

You asked about moving data files, but not about moving the program files. The programs do have to be re-installed on the new server, from a workstation. Your boss might have been referring to programs.
