Hello,

I am trying to close current year. I've been following the steps on the year end processing checklist. However, after proceeding with the "close current fiscal year" function, a window poped up and show "close income/expense acct - must perform function first", which I had performed already. How can I fix this problem?

I am using the GL9.0.

Are you following the checklist for closng a year in Ledger V9.0, one one for Ledger V8.1 - the steps are different.

Have you closed the income and expense accounts for all your departments? Run the function making sure that the range of departments is blanks to z's.

Actually, I was looking for the actual version number and release date. You can find these by selecting help | about in Ledger.

The version number is 9.0A (080402). I don't see a release date. I have the serial number and the database source. Would that help?

I've rerun through this same process and as long as, on the Close Income/Expense Accounts window, I select a Department range of 'blank' through 'zzzzzz' and fill in the other fields the accounts close properly. If it doesn't, it's because I had entered a Department range that had been previously closed. The range of 'blank' to 'zzzzzz' is all encompassing.

Please try this again and, if it doesn't work, please let us know and also contact your Adagio dealer for assistance.

The release date is the number after the version number (080402). This is the latest release of Ledger.

I'd repeat what Technical Support suggested. Make sure you have close the p&l accounts for ALL your departments by selecting the range blank to "zzzzzz" - perhaps there's one you missed. If that fails to solve the problem, then I think someone will need to look at your data.

Thanks, it worked this time!!! Now it askes me to print and clear the batch status report. How do I do that?

Glad to hear the 'Close Year' step is complete now.

For printing the batch status report, you need to access the Reports menu at the top, and the very first choice is the Batch status report. This report must be printed to paper or file (not just print preview) and you will be given the opportunity to purge the report.

There are a number of steps to complete for a Year End in Adagio Ledger 90A. You have accomplished some and perhaps there are others to do. You can find a one-page printed checklist on our website following the link here.
