I had used Adagio FX last year without any troubles, but can't get the retrieval to work this year.

Our fiscal year end, ends December 31st. I have created several new datasets trying to get the fiscal periods to match. Each time during creation I give the fiscal start date of 1/1/2008 and 12 periods. But everytime I try to retrieve I get the error that "The fiscal periods do not match the existing date. Would you like to continue?".

Help please.

Hi Mikee,

What data are you wishing to retrieve? Adagio Ledger, Quickbook or Simply? Is this for a single company or consolidating multiple companies (and/or years) together?

Do you have the option 'Use existing fiscal calendar' selected when performing the retrieve? If so, then the retrieval will not bring in the fiscal calendar from the data and instead leave the calendar you previously defined. If the calendar year in the data does not match what you have in FX, you will receive the warning message indicated.

If all you want to do is bring in the same fiscal calendar for the retrieved data set, you don't have to select the 'Use existing fiscal calendar' option. Data retrieval will overwrite whatever had been initially created for the fiscal calendar.

If you are consolidating multiple companies that happen to have different fiscal calendar years, you also could get this warning message. This could be because the desire is to compare multiple years of the same company. In this case, the warning can be ignored and you just need to continue with the retrieval.

- I am using Adagio data.
- Consolidating multiple companies

I have selected the "Use existing fiscal calendar", and also not selected this option. I am now testing with the option turned off. But the calendars should be the same in any case for all the companies and the FX data. I have also printed the company profile in FX to compare/verify with the GL fiscal Calendar.

When I get the error and tell it to continue, I do get some figures, but no detail to them. It brings in the current balances from the GL as if they were opening balances in FX.

And I haven't opened up 2009 in Adagio GL yet either, if that matters.

I now just tried to go back into my GL data and I got the error that "The accounts groups file was not found. Incomplete dataset, unable to start program". I do know how to correct this, but I just don't understand why the GLAPS*.* files are being deleted.

The location of the FX dataset I am currently using is in the same location as our main company's data. And the same company where I got the accounts group error.

Ah, that information makes the world of difference.

This is a known problem in an older version of Adagio FX81B. If you download and install the July 25, 2008 service pack for Adagio FX81B, this will solve the problem.

A link to downloading this service pack can be found here.

Yes, I didn't have the service pack in. I had downloaded it earlier, just never installed it.

Thanks for your time and help.
