Dear Galil

a. In Adagio FR, after importing the DOS FS, are you sure the correct Fiscal Period was selected? To check this, go back into FR via the Maintenance - Maintain Financial Reports toolbar option in Ledger, and open this imported spec (I hope you saved it as an Adagio FS aftering importing it, otherwise you will have to import it again).

Now, look on the top FR Toolbar - you should see a small scroll box to the left of the 'zero suppress' & 'include provisional' buttons. This scrollbox lets you choose what Fiscal Period to report on. Perhaps it is not set on the correct one. If you change it to be the correct FP for your March figures, it should reflect the correct date now.

-------------------------------------------

b. In some cases, after importing DOS specs, there may be slight adjustments to make. The blank pages could be caused by a 'page break' having been inserted in the original spec and after importing it into FR, needs to be adjusted for the difference between the Windows vs. the DOS environments or it could be that you just need to remove any extra trailing rows at the end of the specification, as well as any trailing columns on the right side.

In FR, page breaks are indicated by a little red line appearing on the top of the row number indicator box that the page breaks on. To remove this page break, click on the row number that has the red mark above it (to highlight it), then select 'Edit - Remove Page Break' from the main FR Toolbar menu options.

If you do not see a red mark anywhere on your FS, then do a preview of your FS and make a note on which lines it seems to be 'breaking', then close the preview window. Delete the row at the bottom of the FS, or the one that is directly above the row that prints on the next page. Preview the FS again. If it prints ok now, save your spec. If you want the extra (blank) row to be there (for spacing), then insert one back in, then save your FS. (Note if there is information on the line you need to remove, insert a blank line above or below this one, then copy the information and paste it into this new line so you can remove the original one without losing the contents.)

If this still does not resolve it, then as indicated above, go to the bottom of your FS. Remove any unnecessary blank rows. Now, go to the far right of your FS and remove any unnecessary blank columns. (ie there should be no blank columns to the right of the columns containing information.) Now, save your FS again and preview it to see if this helped.

--------------------------------------------

c. Before importing the DOS FS from ACCPAC, had you previously gone into Adagio FR and setup your Account Groups to ensure they match what you have setup in the main Ledger? This could affect the figures. It also could be due to the incorrect FP having been selected (item a. above).

Hope this helps to resolve your issues.

Sincerely,
Softrak Support

Thank you for your reply and solutions you gave.

After importing the specifications file from ACCPAC. I changed some of the account numbers for the fixed assets. Of course this changed the figures for this line item.

I tried to define the balances in the fixed assets cells in order to retreive the right balances but it did not work.

Please provide me with your suggestions concerning this issue.

GAlil

Hello again Galil

1. Where did you change some of the account numbers for Fixed Assets? In Adagio Ledger - Account Groups? In FR Account Group Ranges? On the actual Adagio FR specification in some cells? Please give detailed information.

2. What information in the actual cells did you change to try to define the balances? What kind of balances do you need? What was the formula syntax BEFORE your changes and then, what did you change it to?

3. Did you check the FP selected? Did you look at my previous suggestions?

Thanks!

Regards

Dear Galil

The formula syntax "=ADGET ("gldata.Bal",$C53)" is good, so that cannot be your problem - however, you have not specifically said what did not work after you tried to edit the formula to change the reference cell - what happened exactly? After you replaced the old "$C53" with "$C58" - did you press Enter to accept the changes? Could you see $C58 in the cell formula after your changes, or did it still say $C53? Or - do you mean the balance was still not showing the actual balance after you successfully made the change? Did you try pressing F9 to recalculate the balance?

Another thought is: are there actual GL Account numbers in column C? If you click on cell C58 - is this where the new assets account number is? The cell should only contain the following syntax - e.g. '9999-` where 9999 represents your account number.

Again, you cannot grab accounts in the Chart of Accounts view, only in Account Group view.

Since you created a 'new' database for use with Adagio and have "imported certain files" from that database into the Adagio database, and are comparing this with your existing ACCPAC Plus data I would expect possible issues, as these two databases are not the same as far as the accounting structure, are they?

Another thing you could try that would maybe shine some light on this, would be to copy your existing ACCPAC Plus G/L data into another new directory, then point Adagio Ledger at it. Go into FR and import one of the DOS Balance Sheets. Look at how it is configured in relation to the 'new' database that you are struggling with and make the necessary changes.

It is becoming difficult for me to get a clear sense of what is happening here, Galil. My suggestion for contacting a Dealer in your area, or signing up for direct Technical Support stands. A Dealer would be able to help you right in your office while being able to work with your actual data that you have set up and train you in the process. I cannot do this from the Forum. To go any further with this I would need to have your data here to see what you are seeing and be able to advise you accordingly. I cannot do this if you are not on a Combined Support Plan.

Sincerely
Softrak Support
