The File|Export in GL V9.0A (080402) has changed in that we are no longer able to export the specific fields we require into Excel. None of the pre-defined Export reports offers us all the fields we require. As a temporary solution we are exporting three separate reports and then manually merging them together in Excel. Is there a simpler way? We require the fields below:
Account Code, Department Code, Description, Current Balance, Period 1-12 Budget.

Also, when we do export into Excel we get a warning message "File Error: data may have been lost." All the data seems to be there but the message causes some concern. Any way to know what version of Excel Adagio saves to? We are currently using Excel 2003.

Thanks

Hello KNoel,

With the change in the data structure to support the new features, some of the import/export choices changed.

In the interim, it's very easy to define a financial statement with the fields (columns) you need and use the ExcelDirect feature to get the numbers into Excel.

Sorry for the inconvenience.

Andrew

Thanks Andrew,
If you mean creating a Financial Report, I've had little success in doing so. I think it may have to do with our account coding structure. Since the days of Accpac Plus we have had our Acct/Dept codes flipped and I think this is causing the reporting function to not provide us with the necessary output. I will be taking part in the Aug 13 Financial Reports Webinar and hope it can enlighten me a little!
I'll follow-up in a few weeks!

Hi Karin:

The good news is that the Excel sheet you described is very easy to accomplish with the Financial Reporter. It won't matter how complex your chart of accounts has become.

You can request in advance that the presenter address your question during the presentation. I don't know which email address would be best for this purpose. Maybe Andrew can make a suggestion.
