Dear Aussie
This has been reported twice before, and although we were unable to find the cause of this problem at first, we had a similar issue with Ledger that may have given us the cause. In both instances, the workstations were using W2K and Adagio was installed on the Server on a network environment.
If you have upgraded Adagio Payables from an earlier version - did you also update your station by doing a new workstation setup routine? This is necessary to ensure that all files necessary for reporting get updated. If you have not done so already, do the ALLWKST procedure on your station by:
1. Exit out of Adagio.
2. Using Explorer, go to the Drive where Payables was installed & open the Softrak folder.
3. Open the ALLWKST folder.
4. Double click on the allwkst.exe file to start the setup procedure and follow the prompts to update your local C:\ files.
If that does not do the trick, there is another workaround, (but PLEASE let us know one way or the other so we will be certain of the resolution!)...
ISSUE:
Payables returns an ?Error ? Put record (copy) function not defined for Tax Tracking file? when click on Yes to prompt about purging the tax information (after printing the report). If you try printing, then clearing the report again, you may get another Error message ?Critical error: [1] unknown error deleting data set.? DIC is clean, no errors.
NOTES:
This seems to be an intermittent condition when running APWIN on systems running W2K Pro.
RESOLUTION:
Although this problem is intermittent (ie does not happen all the time), if you need to clear the Tax Tracking report (eg to get on with Month or Year End), you can:
1. Close AP
2. Go into MS Explorer
3. Go to your AP data directory
4. Rename or remove the file called aptaxt.dat. It will be recreated the next time you post an invoice that would update the Tax Tracking file.
