Hi people. I new client of mine, has a setup of Adagio that im not familiar with.
It seems the data is located on a Linux server on a SAMBA share. It also seems that the workstations were once setup using LanPack.
One the workstations can works fine. It can access 06-07 data, as well as 08-09 data. The other workstation can only access 06-07 data. If I try to access 08-09 I first get the Fiscal Year error .. I am assuming that the Adagio Ledger and Payables is not up to date on this computer. It also looks like someone at one time tried to install Adagio on this computer as a stand alone install by mistake.
I tried to use the workstation installer located on the server, but it does not detect any modules install, so I don't get the option to update.
Any Idea how I can fix this. To make the situation worse, I am walking someone through this over the phone. The actual boxes are 9hrs away.
Please help.

More clarifications.
The Server as Mentioned a linux samba share mounted on the workstations as drive m:
Adagio on the both the working computer and the no-non working computer are both mapped to m: I can access m: from both workstations.
Both computers can access 06-07 data, but only one workstation can access the 08-09 data. The one that can not access the 08-09 data, says the something like, this is the wrong fiscal year....etc...
I tried creating shortcuts to ledger/payables on the working computer, moving them to m:, then dragging them out of m: onto the non-working computers desktop. then I get caution sign-on failed.

Travis:
When you go into Ledger with a date that is outside of the fiscal year in use by that set of data, Ledger warns you. You can still run the program, although -- depending on what you want to do -- it is usually a good idea to enter the ending date of the fiscal year.
------------------------------------------------
All data and programs should be on shared resources on the server. These resources should be mapped to the same drive letters on all workstations.
The workstations are installed using \softrak\allwkst\allwkst.exe from the network drive. This just sets up the local menus and copies a few important files to the local PC.
The LanPak simply allows more than one user to be in the same program/data at the same time with proper record locking. to ensure data integrity.

The exact error when opening 08-09 is Caution Sign On Failed.
The second time we try, is its the Fiscal Year warning.
However on the same machine we can access the 06-07 data.
We just uninstalled the product and reinstalled from m:\softrak\allwkst\allwkst.exe
Same errors.

Found out one more tidbit.
I have the drive from the non working computer cloned in my office. Looking c:/Softrack/Alwin/wksetup/AL-NET.ini reveals that the system was Version 8.0d.
Check the same file on the remote computer after doing the allwkst.exe reveals the Version 8.0C
Does this mean the the allwkst.exe on the server is out of date? Could this be causing my problems.

Hello Travis:
Sign On Failed: Can be as simple as a mistyped user ID or Password
Fiscal Warning: You haven't provided the exact message but there is a warning that indicates the signon date (on the password screen) does not match the Fiscal Year. For instance, the fiscal year for the selected company is Jan-Dec 2008 but the user logs in with a 2007 date. That will produce a warning but let you proceed.
Do use remote access software like GotoAssist? That would help you in this situation. What is the exact message?

The client does not have internet access on the workstation in question, so remote access is not possible.
I awaiting a call back, will post the errors verbatim.

All im getting now is Caution Sing on Failed.
If you think you can help she would love to hear from you. 18079282414 Ask for Laura.
I have done about as much as I can. I don't really have any experience with Adagio, except for we use here in our office.
It may be setup correctly, they may just be trying to access the data the wrong way.
