I performed a backup of the payables dataset only. The unzipped the files to the default directory. When I open it the first time it asks where the currency files are and I let it default to the ASP directory. The I get the signon failed message. Is the problem in the default of the currency files?

Hi Gary,

The likely problem is that on the screen where you were asked to enter the path to the currency files and the 'eztasks' (or multi-user) file, the path you entered doesn't contain all the files. The information you entered is stored in a data file called ADSPROF (which can be edited with Notepad or any text editor). The default information came from what what entered the last time you saw this screen (which could have been years ago).

Typically, you would choose the ASP directory if you still use Accpac Plus. Otherwise you should choose a \softrak\system directory.

If all you did was make a copy of your AP data to a directory, that should not have affected any of the system support files that control sign-on. Can you sign in as the SYS user ID? If so and cannot with other user IDs, possible problems are that the security files in the data are missing or the ASP path is incorrect and doesn't contain your user list.
