I have an installation that must be re-installed due to installaton being corrupted by copying from a novell system to a new 2003 server.

Plan is to rename the softrak directory and re-install all apps on the server. What files can I copy to the new installation to maintain the current users and security to save the time of resetting users and groups.

Any suggestions, greatly appreciated.

I can appreciate your thoughts and did consider the direct approach, but decided to post anyway, since the installation was corrupted due to no fault of Softrak software. I'm fairly sure the names of a couple of files would save me some of work.

Anyway I wanted your answer......I know you know!

I don't have the file names at hand, but I just want to make sure that when you write "install all the apps on the server", you are planning to install them from a workstation ONTO the server. We have had no end of problems from files getting mis-dated when they are installed directly on the server, from the server. I'm sure you know this of course, but I wanted to make sure that anyone perusing this thread was not mislead.

Always install Adagio FROM a workstation ONTO the server.

I'll have someone send you the names of the files containining the user and group information tomorrow.
