This prog has been out approx 2 months. I have called to Softrak's attention problems with the prog. I can not get an answer as to when they will be resolved.
Prev we used Accpac Quote Master add-in to look at margins to determine if certain prices would be acceptable. The info coming out of SalesCQ is not correct. There are several issues & we have spoke to both our Sales Consultant & Softrak about these matters. One of the issues is the fact that we use Avg Cost basis & the prog pulls from Recent Cost. Of course the margin will be not correct. If Softrak gives the user the choice to select the costing method then all progs should be using the same costing method as selected by the user.
In the Profit Analysis report, the totals do not add up correctly because they pull from the wrong fields & the user cannot correct. I am dissapointed that Softrak knowing the issues exist & data is not correct has not advised it's customers not to depend on the results in making business decisions. Because the basis may be not correct.
Accounting Software should be about accuracy not about "almost correct".

Hello Les,

Perhaps it would be more accurate to say that the information coming out of Adagio SalesCQ is "different" from the information you used to get from Quote Master, as Adagio SalesCQ bases its product cost on the most recent cost, rather than the average cost for an item. Certainly, there is a legitimate argument to be made for basing a quote for an order not yet received on the most recent pricing you have for items in inventory. I do understand your desire to be able to select the cost basis for the calculation, but that would be a program enhancement and will have to wait at least for the next Service Pack to the product.

Based on the first complaint, is it my understanding that you do not agree on the figures for the profit analysis report because the "incorrect" cost basis was chosen? or are the columns of numbers actually not adding up properly when you print out the report?

Andrew,

Thanks for ur quick reply. Of course the information is "different" because it is not correct for our business. The change is rather easy to fix & for your info, Steve Schwartz had tried to fix, however, it is in a field of the report which he cannot access. He has made several changes to fix issues which are not correct which he could access. He has pointed out these issues to ur tech support. The totals are not correct if u simply add up the #'s. I have let Steve log in to our network & showed him the issues first hand. Maybe someone at Softrak would like to take the time to do the same.
Andrew, please feel free to call me & I will be happy to further explain how important it is for us to have accurate info presented by the Accounting Software we use. If we waned to "fly by the seat of our pants", we would not have invested the large amount of $'s we have in Adagio. After all, isn't that what accounting is all about, getting it correct.

Hello Les,

We understand how important it is that our users are happy with the reports that Adagio produces. We also know that they are not happy with continuous hot fixes and service packs to our modules, so we try and accumulate a series of problems to be fixed before we turn a programmer loose on the code.

Whether or not a fix is "easy" is often difficult to judge until the work is started. Certainly fixes always appear to be easy because we are all optimists (otherwise we wouldn't be in the accounting software business ;)).

We appreciate your commitment to Adagio.
