Hi Peter,
There is no difference for credit notes. In fact, you could use the same specification to print both invoices and credit notes if you did not have any labels specifically identifying each printout as such.
Edit your Credit Note spec, and from File | Specification Options, edit the Title of the spec to something unique. This title is what appears in the list of specifications you can choose to print from. Now go into the main program and print (preview) your credit note. Still the same printing problem? Now change the specification to the invoice spec you copied from and re-print the credit note. Still the same problem?
The way Quik Invoice for Windows formats both invoices and credit notes is as follows:
- The Header prints at the top of the page.
- The Footer prints at the bottom of the page.
- Whatever room remaining in the middle is used for printing details.
Make sure the section heights for the header and footer is not too close to 11". If it is, then details may not be able to fit in between, doing something similar to what you reported. Also, if you have a detail section formatted to print each of the 10 text lines, it could be up to 2" in height, and not many of these details will be able to fit onto a single page.
The problem lies with the credit note specification. If a credit note is not printing properly, it is likely because something is not set up properly to print the information contained in the batch. You will need to investigate each of the section sizes to make sure it conforms to the above. You may also want to print (preview) a dummy form within the specification designer to see how it interprets the different sections on your spec.
Also note that Quik Invoice for Windows is an 'older generation' 16-bit product. There now exists Adagio Invoices, a more robust 32-bit application with an enhanced specification designer.
