Hi
I am having trouble in restoring my general ledger from a backup. I have managed to unzip the backup (named BKGL0102) and have processed a single batch. It is filed under my current ASP directory under that name as an unzipped filr with the suffix .U02. Under the same ASP file is my normal working directory "uccdata.U02". I wish to replace this directory and keep its current name with the data in BKGL0102. Please advise me how to do this. Attached for your info is a print screen of my ASP directory

Hi, Bob,

Restoring data can be a tricky thing. It is probably best for you to contact your dealer to have them monitor the process.

At a minimum, they will advise you to make a complete backup of your working directory and to store it in a safe place prior to restoring anything. After, to ensure the appropriate files are replaced by the restore, you would first remove the files that begin with GL from your working directory, then complete the restore.

However, there may well be other implications that are important to your business such as why is the data needing to be restored and these would best be discussed with your dealer.

Please don't do anything without first making a backup of the data in your working directory/folder.
