Hi Wema,

This error is happening because there is a mismatch between the report and the program - one or the other is not the correct version. Either the program is sending a variable to the report that is not recognized, or the report is expecting a variable that the program isn't sending.

What version of Adagio Inventory are you running?
What is the file date of the ICWIN.EXE? This is found in the \softrak\icwin directory.
What are the file dates of the various Item Valuation reports? There are 4 files in the \softrak\icwin\StandardRP directory that start with icval* and an extension of rpt.

We've seen this happen when a previous service pack or upgrade was not installed correctly (ie it was done directly at the server and not from a workstation), and this re-dates important files. And then a subsequent service pack is installed, but certain files that should be copied in are not, and files meant to be replaced are not.

The solution is to reinstall your most recent Inventory service pack or upgrade. But it also means identifying which file(s) have the wrong date; they might need to be removed before installation. You may need to have your Adagio partner help out with this.

I am running the 8.1A version

The file date of the ICWIN.EXE is 5/9/2007.

4 files in /Softrak/icwin/Standard directory that start with icval* and an extension of rpt is dated 30/10/2007.

The file date of ICWin.exe for version 81A is indeed Sept 5, 2007. This is correct.

The file dates of the 4 ICVAL reports should all be July 18, 2007. This is the problem. Likely you did an install of a service pack or upgrade on Oct 30, 2007 and many of the files were incorrectly re-dated to 30/10/2007 instead of maintaining their corect date. And then when you installed the 81A upgrade, the proper updated report files were not copied in.

I suggest creating a temporary folder and moving the report files with wrong dates (ie Oct 30, 2007) to this folder. Then re-install the IC81A upgrade.

You probably will have other files with wrong dates as well, such as the dictionary files (in the \softrak\dict directory, @N80AI.SSI and @N80AR.ssi) or report tables (\qrasp directory, files startin gwith QRTIC* and file extension QRW) where the wrong date of Oct 30, 2007 is instead of the real date. Don't remove every file dated Oct 30 as some of them may be correct, but this is a red flag if you have a number of system files, tables, dictionaries and reports with the same file date. You may run into future problems where the wrong file is in place.

Eventually, you might have to uninstall Inventory (from Windows Add/Remove programs) and reinstall it, should the situation be wide-spread.
