Thanks for the information, Debbie.
So when closing a report from the Quik Reports for Windows designer on a Win2000 machine, you are getting a GPF error. There must be something running in the background that is causing this error, as we cannot duplicate this error on our Win2000 machine that that version of QRWin.
So I guess the next 'list' of questions:
- Does this happen for all of your saved reports, or only specific reports? IF only certain reports, could there be a pattern, such as reports based on a certain data set or program?
- Can you create a new report on this station, save it, and close it without getting the error?
- After getting the error, do you reboot the station? There likely are some program files that are not shut down internally after a crash, and rebooting will refresh these.
- Do you have any special settings for the Win2000 login? Full supervisory rights?
- Do you utilize different Currency settings in Windows Regional Settings? I would imagine that you would be. If this is related to the problem, that would mean that you should never have been able to close the program without an error. Should it have been working OK in the past, this would not be an issue.
- Make sure as little as possible is running at the same time while you evaluate this, including virus checking, Accpac Plus (if possible, for now), Word or Excel or other large programs, etc. If another program is running that is causing this GPF, then of course they would have to be run independantly. Should you be able to narrow this down, then you can start running any of the other programs you had to shut down.
- You may have to re-install Quik Reports for Windows. Either run an 'uninstall' procedure or rename the \QRW directory, then re-install.
