This problem has been reported before and although we are not sure what causes it, we suspect that in some cases, it could be due to a restore of data files that did not clear out old files first, thus leaving behind some files related to the posting sequences.

If you are sure that:
- Your month end procedures have been completed, statements run etc.
- The Batch Status report has been printed and/or cleared
- The GL Transaction report has been printed/cleared (and/or the AR sub-ledger batch has been retrieved into GL)

Then, you can go in and manually delete the posting journal files. To do this:
1. Close AR
2. Using MS Explorer or DOS Prompt, go to your data directory
3. Delete all the ARPOST*.xxx files (where xxx is your data extension)
4. Go back in to AR and proceed as normal
