My client is installing the Adgagio Sales Analysis upgrade to 8.1a and is recieving this message on a workstation setup:

The update function has encountered an unexpected inconsistency.
Program [Adagio SalesAnalysis] is unable to proceed.

I got the same error message at one of our clients. In their case, when one user tried to open SA (for the first time after we updated the program) the routine that runs to update the workstation failed. However, when I manually ran the workstation setup (from the SRWIN\WKSETUP folder), the install went fine.

Maybe that will solve your problem too.

Yes, Ryan's suggestion is the solution.

There was a problem in the previous version of Adagio SA and wrong information was writetn to the workstation Windows registry. This caused the 'auto-workstation setup' to run with Adagio SA 81A installed and the error you reported.

When the workstation setup is run manually for 81A, this replaces the bad stuff with good stuff.
