Dear Michael

When you sell items in QIP, it updates the ICSBATCH in Comma Separated Values (Delimited) format. This file will continue to be appended until it is imported into IC and purged.

You must use the Import Shipments option in IC to update IC with quantities of items sold through QIP.

The QIP Manual Appendix H gives information on using QIP with Inventory Control.

Your IC manual will give information on how to import shipments.

Hi Michael,

The problem with the ICSBATCH file is probably due to you running a version of Quik Invoice Plus that is not Y2K compliant. If you edit the ICSBATCH file with a text editor (Word, Notepad, DOS Edit, etc), you will likely see a number of records that have an invalid date field. For all versions of Quik Invoice prior to QI6.5A (000105), if you post an invoice in the year 2000 or later, the date field will have 2 asterisks ** instead of the year.

You will need the upgraded version of Quik Invoice to write correctly to the ICSBATCH file to allow importing into IC.

For the ICSBATCH file you have right now, installing an upgrade will not fix this. You will have to edit the document and replace the ** characters with the proper year (00 or 01). It may be easiest to use Word and a Find/Replace function, or some kind of Word macro, or perhaps another method that you prefer.

Hello again, Michael!

The "QIP01011" ptf you downloaded is for Quik Invoice Plus for WINDOWS - it is not for the DOS version - so no need to worry about it!

Furthermore, only Softrak Business Partners can obtain passwords for downloaded files - End Users who download the ptfs from the End User area must obtain passwords from their Dealers.

If you are interested in renewing your IRP status with Softrak, or if you have questions about it, you should contact Wally Kunz wallyk@softrak.com or by fax (604) 736-6431. Renewing would give you all the priviledges our other Partners enjoy, including access to our Partner area on the web, to download current NFR Demos of all our products.

Your client should really upgrade their product by purchasing an upgrade to the current release, which is V6.7A (001122). This version is compatible with AR7.0 and includes other fixes and enhancements as well as being fully Y2K compliant.

The ptf's on our website are for current versions only (not to be confused with release date of product). If your client actually has V6.2A of QIP - I cannot see how they would be using a 98 ptf - as those were only for V6.5A.

Hope the extra information is useful - good luck! (Give Wally a shout - !)

Regards,
Softrak Tech Support
