Dear Raja
The database must be letting you in, or you would not be able to go to the File | Check Data Integrity option - ? Or do you mean that after getting into this database, and trying to check it the first time, you received this GPF Error, then after that, when trying to get in to do another check/rebuild you could not get into it?
The "toolhelp.dll" file is located in the Windows\System32 as well as the Windows\System32\dllcache directories on my system, however, since I do not have this older version of QIWIN installed, it may also reside in the Windows\System directory for the 16-bit version of QIWIN.
I don't believe this file is installed by QIWIN, so it may be installed by Windows and QIWIN uses it during the DIC process in some way, but I cannot say.
You could try to eliminate some possibilities by trying this:
Can you get into another of the 4 databases and do a DIC successfully? Can you go into the QIWIN\Samdata directory & do the same? If you cannot do a DIC in any data, then you could try reinstalling QIWIN to see if this restores a damaged program file. (Rename your QIWIN program directory first, so all files are cleanly installed.) You may need to reinstall Windows, but I would need to verify the relationship between QIWIN and this TOOLHELP.DLL file before recommending that.
IF you CAN do a successful DIC on the other data sets, then there is definitely something wrong with this set of data. You have only a couple of options (and no, there is no other tool you can use reliably to repair this data):
1. If this just ocurred, and you have a recent backup, you could restore this data from the most recent backup and see if you can now do a clean DIC. Any missing transactions since that backup was created will have to be re-entered.
2. If a good backup cannot be found, you can contact our Database Repair department, email: datarepair@softrak.com , or by phone: (604) 736-3741 or fax (604) 736-6431 to request a quotation on repairing your data.
Those are your only options.
Hope this helps..
