Hi Lorraine,

There haven't been any reported issues regarding importing the shipment batch into IC and not recognizing the Unit of Measure. Could you check a few things?

- If you press F3 in the System Manager, and go to Options, is Verification on (YES) or off (NO)? If verification is on, then some extra checking is done to make sure the unit of measure exists on the item and it has the same format - capital letters, etc.

- Open the icsbatch.abc data file using MS Word, and write down the Unit of Measure field contents for the problem item. It can be found in the 7th field of each Detail line. You should not have to change this file at all.

- From the above, make sure that this unit of measure exists for the item you are trying to import. It might be that this unit of measure was removed or edited in IC item maintenance. There may be an issue if the capitalization of the item was changed at all.

If you are concerned about getting this batch imported right away, and the program is not letting you know which item has a problem, you can always copy a portion of this batch to a separate Word file (formatted as Text, not a Word document). Then import this file through the Import Shipment function. Continue with smaller portions until you narrow down where the problem is, and make relvant correction. ***Make a backup of your data before doing this***

Hi Lorraine,

I would not suggest deleting items in IC or the ICSBATCH file. The reason for the first is somewhat obvious. If you delete the lines in the ICSBATCH file, then qty on hand, cost information, etc will not be updated for those items.

When you look at the ICSBATCH file, and find an item that gives the Unit of Measure error message, note what the field has for the unit of measure, including capital letters. Then go into IC and View or Edit that item. On the Units/Pricing policy screen, there are 4 fields where alternate units of measure can be used in addition to your stocking unit. If the contents of the unit of measure field from ICSBATCH does not appear here for the stocking unit or any of the 4 alternate units, that would be why the import shipment problem exists.

If this is set up correctly, and everything in the ICSBATCH file has valid information, there may be a problem with your IC program and/or data integrity that we wouldn't really be able to help with.
