I just went to retrieve from the AP subledger and it went into next year batches window as opposed to the batches window. We have already closed the year; why then is there a next year batch option? Obviously I'm not clear on how this works. Could you please enlighten me?

Hi Lulu,

If you have a 'Next Year' batches option, this means you have not closed the current year. You may have run the 'Close Income/Expense Account function', which moves the balances of income statement accounts to Retained Earnings, just like it always has.

You still need to run the 'Close Current Fiscal Year' function from the maintenance menu in order to officially close the year. This function is identical to the older 'Change Fiscal Year' function in previous versions of Adagio Ledger. When this is done, you will see the Next Year batches consolidate with the Current Year batches, and the current fiscal year moved up to the new year.
