We have started using picking sequences on some of our products.
When we produce a pick slip it prints in a different order than what we typed it in at. Since our picking sequence is alphabetical it is changing the order of the product this way.
If an item has no picking sequence it prints first on the pick slip. Now when we invoice from this pick slip the invoice prints out in an entirely different order than the pick slip.???
Do not know what would cause this to happen.
Any suggestions???

Picking slips are normally printed in picking sequence order to help the people in he warehouse. Spaces sort ahead of anything (so items with no picking sequence assigned will be at the beginning of the pick slip.

If you really prefer to have your picking slips print in the order they were entered, select 'Line number' in the 'Sort by'.

Yes the items sort with blank spaces ahead of the picking sequence on the picking slip but when you invoice this is not the case. The order on the pick slip is different from the order on the invoice. This makes is more difficult to double check your order. The sort by field is on sort by "picking sequence" which we need it to be for the warehouse. The invoice sort by fiel is also set to sort by "picking sequence".

Edit the invoice and, on the Details tab, using the Column Editor add the location field to the grid if it's not there already.

The actual 'Sort by' selection is Loc/Picking Sequence. Items are first sorted by Location, then by Picking Sequence within Location. It may be that the locations on the order are different than on the invoice.

Never thought of the Details tab, so I added in picking sequence and location. Now I have my pick slip printed out. Picking sequence is first. I press find and type in the pick slip number and go to details tab and the order this is coming up at is different from the actual printed out pick slip. So I have to be very carefull filling in the qty shipped as I cannot rely on the screen and the pick slip to be in the same order

When you print the Pick Slip, which "Sort lines by" option are you using? There are 3 options. If you use "Line Number", your Pick Slip will be exactly the same sequence as your on-screen Order.

We need to sort by picking sequence for the warehouse order picking.

Turn Remember Form Settings on in your Company Profile, System Options tab of OE.

If the warehouse needs it sorted by Picking Sequence, when you print picking slips, set the 'Sort lines by' dropdown on the Printing Picking Slips window to 'Location/Picking sequence'.

If you want the items on invoices to print in the order they were entered, when you print invoices, set the 'Sort lines by' dropdown on the Printing Invoices window to 'Line number'.
