I am using Datacare 6.5 and after installing ar 7.0 I get alot of errors in the gl accounts that ar effects. I have heard that I need to change some setting in the ar company profile. What needs changed to eliminate the errors? I also have an error in OE 6.5. It says that OEOLOG and OESTATS has invalid size.

If you are getting errors such as these, then read the following notes for further details.

Checking flat file GLPST
*** ' 1005 30??e?? ' errors in fields (0) *Fail*
Character field '20 BYTES (WAS FILLER)' invalid (0133)
*** ' 1005 30??e?? ' errors in fields (990) *Fail*
Character field '20 BYTES (WAS FILLER)' invalid (0133)
*** ' 1006 30??e?? ' errors in fields (30096) *Fail*
Character field '20 BYTES (WAS FILLER)' invalid (0133)
*** ' 1006 30??e?? ' errors in fields (30294) *Fail*

This seems to be a problem in the GL table that only shows up with a certain option on. From the log it looks like there is a date and maybe an integer in the field that table thinks should be a string.

We believe it has to do with a new feature that was added to the AR7.0 company profile, in the GL integration section, called 'Include posting data in description'. When this option is turned on (?Y?) and subsequent batches posted, then the batches retrieved into the GL, DataCare returns these errors.

The resolution is to turn off the extra field checking (flat and keyed files) by saying ?No? to these options for GL7.0 in the DataCare | Company Profile | Configure screen.

Regarding the errors showing up in your OEOLOG and OESTATS files - I am not sure if the new Company Profile option in AR7.0 would affect OE in any way or not, but have not had any other reports of this association.

Turn on the "verbose" diagnostic level check in DC's Company Profile. Do a Single Entry check on OE, then print the DC Log report to see more details on the errors.

Does the WSM DIC return errors on these files?
