If I install AR8.1, OE8.1, AP8.1 will we still be able to work back and forth with Accpac Plus?

AR8.1 is asking me to convert our data.

Yes - although if you change the "due date" on an invoice in AR (an Adagio only feature), the customer transaction inquiry in ACCPAC Plus will no longer display the transactions properly.

Is there any reason why you would want to continue using Plus?

You didn't indicate what versions of Plus you are using. Adagio is converting the data to a Plus 6.5 format and creating the extra fields and tables that Adagio uses for all of the extra features in provides.

Are you using the same 3 modules in Plus? Are you also using Inventory?

Generally, you should be able to move back and forth between the two but, again, I'm not certain of what Plus releases you are using. Day Ends in OE should be run in Adagio to ensure all files are updated appropriately. Also, as Adagio uses extra fields and tables to accommodate features that Plus doesn't have and won't be able to recognize, I'd suggest you delete any vendors, customers or items in Adagio rather than Plus.

You might find the ReadMe file, which is available during installation of Adagio and after installation within a module by selecting Help and About from the menu, helpful also.

Yes, a few employees are a bit more comfortable using Plus because of the years of experience.

We are using OE6.5A, AR6.5A, AP6.5A

We enter "orders" in Accpac OE and also using Adagio OE then invoice orders when shipping, we do not enter any orders in AR as Andrew stated above therefore we do not change "due date" of an invoice.

I just want to ensure AR in Plus will be working the way it is now using Adagio AR8.0

One last thing...

You should always read the release note of any module before installing it. And, as Support suggested, carefully check the Read Me when you install any update.

These two resources always highlight any issues that ACCPAC Plus users might encounter in the new version.

Having said that, why not show some of your Plus "diehards" the kinds of things they can only do in Adagio? Things like:

• Copy orders, invoices, batches and transactions
• Email or fax forms (order confirmations, statments, etc.)
• Lookup information in Order Entry from Accounts Receivable
• Store e-mail addresses and web site URLs
• Print to PDF's
• ... and more

If it's the keyboard nature of Plus that they like, then have them read Chapter 6 from the Adagio Fundamentals manual. Adagio can be completely "driven" from the keyboard.

The only way the OE users will ever get Adagio to maximum speed is if they use it. You have to remind them that they weren't very fast when they started with Accpac OE - they just got better over time.

Short term pain, long term gain... Eventually they will have to shut Plus down - what level of performance do they want to be at when that time comes - 50% or 95%.

You will be able to use both ACCPAC Plus AR 6.5 and Adagio Receivables 8.1 on your AR data. The database changes from 8.0 to 8.1 are minor and will not prevent use of ACCPAC Plus AR.
