Dear atang,

This message occurs when you try to open a report that was created with a different version program table than what you have tagged in QR's Options | Install Data area.

The other instance is when you do not have any tables for this product tagged.

Go into QR Designer. Select Options | Install Data. Look for the QI table description that matches the version of QIP you are using. For example, if you are using QIP6.5A, look for that description. The actual version of the QIP tables have not changed - the far right version will still show "QI 6.2A" as the Version description, even though you have V6.5A or higher installed.

If the table does not have a little arrow beside it, it has become "un" selected due to the moving around of your programs and data.

Re-installing QIP was a good idea, however, make sure you installed it to the correct location (in your case, on the Server's hard drive). Be aware that the programs and data may not reside on the same drive. The data only may be on the P:\ drive, while the programs may (for example) reside on O:\. Also, when you are installing programs onto a Server, you may need proper network rights to do so. Check with your network or system administrator if you are not sure about this.

In order for Quik Reports to successfully report on QIP data, QIP must be installed AFTER QR. If QR gets reinstalled, so must QIP. In this case, both the qi*.* and the qr*.* files must be in the same data directory along with any other applications' datafiles that you have in your report.

Also check that the Windowing System Manager Start List entries for both your QIP and QR are pointing to the correct location of the data now.

Hope this helps. If you are still experiencing problems, please feel free to submit another post.

Regards,

Hello again, atang

It sounds like you need to reinstall QIP to restore the correct version tables in QR, however, there may be another problem that is preventing QR from seeing the correct information.

You should not have to install the older version of QR. V6.5A is compatible with older and newer versions of QIP. The most current release of QR V65A is 001213. QIP is now up to V6.7A 001122. Here is what I would like to suggest...

1. Make sure you have the necessary rights required to install programs and manipulate files on your network Server. WIN NT is very picky in this respect. If you are not sure about this, ask your System/Network administrator or the person responsible for upkeep of your hardware and software.

2. Make sure nobody is currently using ACCPAC Plus (ie get everyone & every workstation connected to the Server out of it).

3. Rename the QRASP directory (eg. to QRASPOLD) - perhaps something has happened to alter these files.

4. Re-install Quik Reports, using the most current version disks you have (this should be the same version you were using prior to moving all the programs to the Server).

5. Re-install QIP, again, using the same version you had installed before. IMPORTANT: Say YES to install the tables for Quik Reports when prompted.

6. Go into QR now and go to Options | Install Data. Make sure the proper version of the QIP table is selected (ie the same one as before the move). If it is, try opening your report now.

Hope this helps. If it doesn't, please let me know BOTH the version AND RELEASE date of the QR and QIP you have installed, and include exact details of what has been done so far. Also - are there fields in this report from any other application? Ie Sales Analysis? If SA is in your report (or any other 3rd Party application) you will have to reinstall that program too at this point.

Thanks - and good luck!

Regards
