Hi again!

Thought I would post some of the information that I sent to you as per your email, so others would be able to benefit from it:

Is this vertical market inventory / production / sales order / purchase order software integrate with ACCPAC Plus in any way? If it does not, then importing of some kind would be the only option, as you have indicated.

Adagio Invoices can import items and/or invoices into it's database and these invoices can then be printed and/or archived and then posted. When invoices are posted from Adagio IN, they post directly to Adagio AR, or ACCPAC Plus AR, thus updating the customer database with the new transactions.

The posting procedure also creates a subledger batch to be retrieved in either Adagio Ledger or ACCPAC Plus GL. It seems that the dilemma then resides with AP regarding the import of batches. Adagio AP does, however, accept automatically generated invoice batches depending on the capability of the source application.

Just as with ACCPAC AP, the option to "allow edit of imported batches" refers to batches that are automatically generated by (for example) IC Receipts. If you have the correct option turned on to do this. (The option for "Create ( ) batches for Accounts Payable" must be set to the "Direct" method for this to take effect. In ACCPAC Plus IC, this is the last choice on the 7th Company Profile screen.

You would have to look into the Inventory/Purchase Order system they now use to see if this could be accommodated.

Since your client's data was originally being processed in ACCPAC Plus AR, AP and GL, there would be no costly and time consuming data conversion if they chose to go to the Adagio accounting packages - you could just point Adagio at their ACCPAC Plus database, and start processing.

I have forwarded your concern to our R&D department, however, for their response to when they may be implementing the import batch functions into AP and AR.

Thank you for your comments - they are well appreciated!
