AP8.1C is no longer a supported version and no longer available on our website; hence, why Customer Service provided you the information for AP8.1E. The password provided for the 8.1E will not work with 8.1C.
I'd suggest that, before installing the newer release(s), you first read the Release Notes available on our website or Readme Help file available during and after the install paying particular attention to the Compatibility, Important Notes and Upgrading to this Version topics (along with Installing). You'll want to ensure that each of the program versions you are looking to install is compatible with the other program versions you are wanting to install.
As going from your old versions to the current shipping versions is a large jump (as referenced in the Upgrading to this Version topics), you might want to test install and converting data to the supported older versions first. Then, after ensuring all is successful, test and convert the copy of their data you are using for testing to the currently shipping Adagio versions. Make sure functions such as printing and emailing (if used) function like they do in their current live environment before converting their live data and having the users go live.
Much has changed since the versions this site has been using and Adagio versions 9.2 and higher.
If the site has any custom Adagio GridViews or modified or custom Crystal reports, you'll want to have a plan for converting these in place before going to the currently shipping versions of Adagio.
