If you are running a reasonably recent release of Adagio Receivables (and compatible Order Entry), then yes you can specify which functions will trigger an alert. Edit the customer and go to the Notes/Alerts tab. If at the bottom, you see a checkbox 'Enable alerts', and a grid below it with columns 'Alert Description' and 'Function list', then you are running a version of Receivables that supports this. You can double-click on this Alerts grid in order to edit the existing alert, or create a new one - you are allowed to store multiple alerts for each customers, which may appear with different functions.
