Unless I missed something in the feature set setup (which is entirely possible as a lot of new features have been added in recent years), the expected ship date is not defaulted to anything and is not automatically update during invoicing. In this way the date can be fixed to a specific date that can only be manually changed (before invoicing) and result analyzed by comparing the expected date to the actual date.
