I'm a bit confused. I cannot find the field you are referring to in AR. Could you point it out for me?

For Payables, it doesn't make much sense to save a single job number for a vendor, as they may be supplying several jobs. With Crystal Reports, or GridView, you should be able to get the figures you are looking for from Job Costing.

Are you looking for a report which shows Payables by job?
