There is a way to reverse (NSF) a single item from a deposit however the procedure is not as obvious as one would think. Even I have to think about this every time someone asks. You need to find the deposit in the Balance Inquiry/View Transactions. There you will find the NSF button. The NSF will reverse the single payment within the deposit and make the amount outstanding again on the customers account.
I suspect what you have done is reverse the entire deposit, only impacting the bank balance. What you did afterwards will need to be undone. The best option is to always reverse the mistakes you made rather than try and find some short-cut. When you make a mistake like this it's always best to get your Adagio consultnat to help you out.
