You have already identified the culprit: Kapersky.
Various anti-virus checkers cause various problems with various software although data intensive programs like Adagio seem to be affected more often.
Try the following with your technician, in this order, and check Adagio operation after each.
1. Turn off real-time file checking for the \Softrak and \ QRASP folders and sub-folders.
2. Turn off Kapersky's real-time checking entirely.
3. Un-install Kapersky.
Obviously if the last one is the only one that solves the problem, you will need a different virus-checker. One that works, seemingly without problems, is Microsoft Security Essentials. Price is pretty good too!
