I tried 3 or 4 times and waited each time between 20 minutes and 45 minutes before I gave up. I did run task manager to see if I could figure out whether the program was crashed or still processing. It continually switched back and forth between "running" and "not responding". I gave up in the end and copied the GL data to my local drive. When I ran it from there it worked fine and completed in about 5 minutes. I copied the GL data back to my live data and was able to close the year. I never knew to try the I/O bytes activity but that's good to know in the future. Thanks.
