Hi Nigel,

I am using Adagio, on both Mac and Windows Laptops. I am of the opinion that using a Mac is the fastest and most problem free experience you will get with / in a “Windows” environment.
There are obviously a few things to watch out for like finding your Windows keys in a Mac ext.

But first, you must be using a very old Install or Demo CD. The problem that you encountered is either caused by the CD being unreadable or the install process got “confused” with the UNC path. It is definitely better to use the downloaded install files.

I would not recommend using SWSoft’s Parallels or VMWare’s Fusion (using both myself) for running your Accounting Software unless you are technically inclined and prepared to deal with the odd Mac/Unix/Windows inconsistencies and to sacrifice some speed and processing power. Interfacing with Domain Controllers also has its own challenges. It is great for instance MS Office but not for Accounting environments – rather utilise BootCamp. Alas it does not end here but I am getting of the topic.

Should you require any further assistance you are welcome to contact me via Doug.
