The only time we have heard of a similar 'pipe' error printing specs (though not identical to what you reported), it was do to the Specific Printer setting in File | Options. What happened was that a Specific Printer (driver) was chosen instead of the Default printer, and the user who was trying to print a specification did not have that driver on their machine. As a result, printing was unsuccessful.

My suggestion for now (if the above is similar to your situation) is to set the File | Options for printing invoices to the Default Printer. If you need to print to a certain printer other than default, this can be changed at the time of printing via the Setup button.

If you must print to a non-default printer, make sure you have the proper printer driver installed and set up through Windows.
