Dear Sherri

A Consultant has already contacted us on your behalf regarding this, I believe. I gave them some suggestions and recommendations, depending on what is found in the data.

Without knowing exactly what your hardware/software environment is (other than you are using an unknown version of TBR) - it is hard to tell you exactly what to do to resolve it, however, by your description the problem seems to lie with writing transactions to the associated files. This suggests inconsistencies within the data (or damaged data files) rather than a problem with the program itself, no matter what version/release you are using.

Here is what was suggested to the Softrak Business Partner who called...

1. Make a backup of your data (do NOT backup over top of your last good backup, as you may need this later).
2. Perform a Data Integrity Check on both the TBR and any other related data to check for errors. 3. If errors are found, you have a couple of options:
a) Restore the data from a recently made (good) backup (you will have to re-enter any transactions that were made since this backup was done)... or ...
b) Get the data repaired by a Professional.

If your Dealer cannot help you in this regard, we offer that service here in our Database Repair Department. You can contact them for an estimate on what it would cost for your data. By email: datarepair@softak.com . By phone: (604) 736-3741.

Another simple test you can do is to try performing the same steps in the sample data. If sample data was installed, you should be able to find it in X:\ASP\Samdata\Softrak\TBR - and the data file extension of course, will be .SAM.

If all is ok in the sample data, this goes further to point to data issues with the dataset you experienced the problem with, rather than the program itself.

Hope this helps,

Take care,
