I had a client with the same scenario as you - they upgraded to GV 9.0C and when they went to open a View, they got the "Unable..." error message.

It turned out that the View was using a composite table that no longer exists in the latest version of GridView. Since it was a simple view, we recreated the view from scratch. The new version has the ability to create your own composite tables, and that's what we did.
